The Canadian Deafness Research and Training Institute (CDRTI) is a federally incorporated non-profit organization.

CDRTI was founded in 1988 to meet research and training needs in the field of deafness, both on a national and international basis. CDRTI and McGill University have signed a long term agreement to cooperate in the establishment and operation of research and training programs related to deafness. The organization is run by a volunteer board of directors and a part time administrator.

Promotion of pure and applied research; literacy and deafness; employment and deafness; technology and deafness (closed captioning, TDD/TTY, computer), studies and policy development.
