Required Skills and Experiences:
- Accounting and bookkeeping experience
- Experience with Sage and QuickBooks software
- Experience with working autonomously and taking initiative
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent organization skills and strong attention to detail
- Bilingualism (French and English), an advantage.
Responsibilities- as Management of bookkeeping:
- Complete and accurate bookkeeping, ensuring that all transactions are accurately recorded and filed.
- Invoice Entry: Enter supplier and customer invoices into the accounting system in an accurate and timely manner.
- Record of Transactions: Record all financial transactions, including sales, purchases, payments and receipts.
- Validate and enter employee and special event expense accounts.
- Bank reconciliations: Perform monthly bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial records.
- Tax returns: Prepare and submit federal and provincial tax returns, ensuring compliance with tax regulations.
- Budget updates: Participate in updating and monitoring budgets, providing regular reports on variances from forecasts.
Key functions:
- Manage all aspects of the accounting function.
- Assist staff in other departments with basic accounting questions and problems.
- Ensure the implementation and monitoring of internal controls.
- Update and improve the effectiveness of accounting procedures and software.
- Perform month-end closing process.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports.
- Support the annual budget process and monthly forecasts.
- Participate in annual audit process.
- Assist with special reporting and analysis projects.
- Perform other related tasks.
