Early Childhood Healthy Early Years (HEY) HEY is a Public Health Agency of Canada program that supports early childhood health promotion programming in official language minority communities across Canada. Our program allows Networking and Partnership Initiatives (NPIs) to develop culturally and linguistically appropriate programs to support families and children (0-6). Ongoing Project Working together to help children start off on the right foot The NPIs implementing with the HEY program provide promotion and prevention activities to help children get off to a better start in life, prepare them for school, and improve opportunities that allow them to grow into healthy adults who participate fully in society. The CHSSN is the fiduciary organization for the province of Quebec and provides funding to organizations participating in the NPI. Activities in this Program include: Planning and outreach activities to help communities assess strengths and needs for the delivery of HEY, and engage community members and potential partners. Community-based activities to increase knowledge of early childhood development and develop parenting skills. Capacity building activities to enhance the skills of community workers to deliver and support effective prenatal and early childhood development programs as well as build the capacity of the community to improve health outcomes for children 0-6 years.
