This presentation will explore simple strategies to make daily tasks safer, easier and less tiring while supporting independence and confidence at home. Participants will learn practical approaches to fall prevention, home and bathroom safety, dressing, meal preparation, household tasks, energy conservation and the thoughtful use of assistive devices. An emphasis on adapting tasks and the environment so older adults can continue doing the activities that matter most to them. Objectives Identify at least three simple changes to the home or daily routine that can improve safety and make everyday activities easier. Apply practical strategies such as the 4 Ps – Prioritize, Plan, Pace and Position – to conserve energy and reduce unnecessary effort. Recognize when an assistive device, home modification or Occupational Therapy assessment may help maintain safety and independence. Presented by: Jennifer Hobbs-Robert, M.Sc.A, BCN, CNEd Jennifer Hobbs-Robert, RN, MScA, has extensive experience in nursing leadership, community health, seniors’ care, quality improvement and health education. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Community Health Nursing from Concordia University, a Master’s degree in Epidemiology and Biostatistics from McGill University, and a post-master’s certification in Health Education from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. A recipient of the Prix Rachel-Bureau, the highest regional distinction awarded by the Ordre régional des infirmières et infirmiers de Québec (ORIIQ), Jennifer is a Senior Wellness Advisor with CHSSN, Senior Advisor with Jeffery Hale Community Partners, and an Accreditation Canada/International Surveyor.
