Health Canada (OLHP) Adaptation of Health and Social Services Initiative The Adaptation of Health and Social Services Initiative aims to support Quebec’s health and social services system improve their offer of services in English at the local level. Our experience with the Adaptation Initiative has reinforced our commitment to continue building partnerships between communities and the health and social services system. This initiative illustrates how collaboration and partnership between the health system and local community networks can help ensure equitable access to services for the English-speaking community. 2023 - 2028 Improving access to health & social resources for the English-speaking population In collaboration with the Ministère de la Santé et des Services sociaux (MSSS), the CHSSN supports the Centres intégrés de santé et de services sociaux (CISSS) and the Centres intégrés universitaires de santé et de services (CIUSSS) to implement local and regional projects. The Adaptation initiative has four main objectives: Developing knowledge of the regional English-speaking communities and their needs Developing measures to improve access to the regional health entity’s service programs Creating partnerships with local community health networks Producing information documents and communications tools in English. Partnership with MSSS Working together An implementation agreement with Quebec’s Ministry of Health and Social Services is the key to ensuring that this Health Canada contribution fully respects Quebec’s jurisdiction in the health and social services domain. Health Canada Download Project Descriptions Investing in our Future These projects are culturally and linguistically adapted to meet the unique needs of the English-speaking population. Adaptation projects are financed by Health Canada through the Action Plan for Official Languages 2018-2023: Investing in our Future.
